Inktober is an annual drawing challenge that takes place in the month of October. The challenge is to create one drawing each day, following a set of prompts. Thousands of people participate online, sharing their artwork every day. The challenge was initially focused on ink drawing but most people now take freedom with the medium, as drawing every day is already challenging enough.

2025 was the first time I took part in Inktober. The previous years, I didn’t see the point, as I always had my own projects going, and didn’t want to restrict myself to specific prompts. But this year I did not have anything in progress, and several friends doing the challenge convinced me into it.
I wanted to improve my portrait skull, so I made only portraits, which was not always easy to fit in the prompts.
I loved this challenge. It is always nice to focus completely on something for an extended period of time. The prompts also helped me avoid overthinking my production too much. And the collective experience was amazing, seeing so many people, friends or strangers, working on the same subject, with their own interpretation, in a cheerful atmosphere.
I love Leporello (accordion) format.
