Inktober is a daily drawing challenge through October, each day being associated with a theme.

I wanted a specific (small) sketchbook format and paper, so I built a A7-sized custom sketchbook, from watercolor paper, some old monoprints for the cover, bound using coptic binding, using this tutorial.

This was my second year completing Inktober. I knew I would be busy the last week of October, so I had to get ahead of schedule, which was quite challenging, as it meant drawing several pages a day. Each day, I wrote a haïku that contains the daily theme (the word handwritten), alongside words cut out from a book. My illustration loosely followed the poem, which itself loosely followed the daily theme.

I used this format before in my 6×6 project.
